South Korea's CJ Logistics has entered into mutual cooperation with the Taiwan-based global shipping company Evergreen Marine Corporation for the enhancement of maritime transport and expansion of transportation volume.
The South Korean company announced on Friday that it had signed a strategic business agreement for the invigoration of global logistic" at Evergreen's headquarters in Taoyuan City, Taiwan.
Evergreen Marine is a worldwide shipping company that transports container cargo worldwide and ranks 6th in the world in terms of vessel capacity. It is part of the Evergreen Group, along with Taiwan's national airline EVA Air.
Both companies agreed to actively cooperate in providing competitive fares and space on vessels for container cargo going between Korea, China, Japan, and other Asian regions and the United States and Europe through the business agreement.
They also agreed to work together in expanding the volume of maritime container transport cargo between Asia and Southeast Asia through joint sales. They plan to jointly develop additional services such as end-to-end service, which consistently transports container cargo from the sender to the receiver through land and sea.
In particular, with the latest agreement, CJ Logistics has opened the possibility of strategic collaboration with global shipping companies such as France's CMA-CGM, Hong Kong's OOCL and China's COSCO, which are part of the Ocean Alliance shipping alliance to which Evergreen belongs.
