South Korea's Kakao Entertainment on Thursday launched the artificial intelligence (AI) brand Helix, with its first service Helix Push recommending works by learning reader data.
As the company's AI brand, Helix will be applied to all intellectual property and refers to learning, improving and expanding human experience.
Kakao Entertainment will launch individual AI services under this brand.
The first service Helix Push will be applied to Kakao Page from day one.
After AI learns each user's viewing, purchasing and visiting data, it recommends the work the reader is most likely to prefer with the benefit of the right of use at the optimal time.
The introduction of Helix Push will come sequentially on global reading platforms such as Tapas and Radish and domestic ones like Kakao Webtoon.
"We're researching the many aspects of AI technology that connect creators, readers, artists and users within the platform," Kakao Entertainment Chief Technology Officer Kim Ki-beom said. "We will introduce diverse services using AI technology to deliver new enjoyment to users and expanded value and meaning to creators and artists."
