(From left) CEO of LG CNS Hyun Shin Gyoon, Mayor of New York City Eric Adams, Chairman and CEO of AMCHAM Korea James Kim South Korea's information technology service provider LG CNS announced on Friday it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for a digital transformation (DX) partnership with the Government of New York City and the American Chamber of Commerce (AMCHAM) in Korea.
Through this agreement, New York City and AMCHAM Korea plan to actively incorporate LG CNS's technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), digital twin, the Internet of Things (IoT), blockchain, and more. In addition, LG CNS will run an internship program for college students in New York City and extend support to minority-owned and women-led startups.
LG CNS expects that, through its collaboration with New York City, it will expand its businesses globally in areas such as smart cities, e-government and cloud services. LG CNS has extensive experience in building public infrastructure, including projects like the Seoul public transportation card called Tmoney.
Furthermore, LG CNS is considering establishing a local office in New York in the near future. "This MOU will provide excellent training and opportunities to many of New York City's residents," The New York City Mayor Eric Adams said.
