Samsung Electronics Co. said on Sunday that more than 20 million smartphones in South Korea are now equipped with its Galaxy AI technology, driven by strong sales of new models and AI updates to older devices.
The milestone follows the launch of the Galaxy S24 series, Samsung’s first AI-powered smartphone, in January, along with the Galaxy Z Fold6 and Z Flip6—the first foldable devices with integrated AI features.
The 10 models, including the Galaxy S23, S22, Z Flip5, Fold5, and Z Flip4 and Fold4 series, are included in the count.
Samsung highlighted that Circle to Search, an image search feature, is the most popular AI tool among Galaxy users.
Younger consumers, particularly those aged 10 to 20, have embraced AI-driven productivity tools like Note Assist and Photo Assist, which offer text organization, summarization, and AI-powered photo editing.
Samsung also plans to expand its Galaxy ecosystem, increasing the number of AI-supported devices and languages.
"We aim to increase the number of languages supported by Galaxy AI from the current 16, including Korean, to 20 by the end of the year," a company source said.
