On Sunday, South Korean mobile telecom carrier LG Uplus Corp. announced that it would host a joint exhibition hall with Kakao Mobility, GS Engineering & Construction Co. and Pablo Air at Drone Show Korea 2023, the largest drone trade show in Korea.
Together, these companies will showcase their blueprint for next-generation urban air mobility (UAM) on a 320-square-meter exhibition hall, featuring the urban air mobility platform, the vertiport for vertical takeoff and landing, and an integrated control system.
Last May, LG Uplus formed a consortium named UAM Future Team to take part in the Korean Urban Air Mobility (K-UAM) Grand Challenge demo project. The company partnered with LG Science Park, Kakao Mobility, GS E&C, GS Caltex, Jeju Air Co. and Pablo Air for this initiative.
Since then, LG Uplus has inked deals with Busan Metropolitan City, Seoul Metro, and Plana, a UAM vehicle development startup, to prepare for the early commercialization of UAM services.
Through their booth at the Drone Show Korea, LG Uplus intends to present its vision for the future of UAM services, hoping to lead the next-generation urban mobility paradigm.
Drone Show Korea is scheduled to take place at the Busan Exhibition and Convention Center (BEXCO) for three days from February 23 to 25.
