SK C&C, an information and communications technology affiliate of South Korea’s SK Group, on Thursday said it is developing a system for tracking waste cooking oil.
This system prevents “green washing,” or the practice of fake green management in which general biofuels are sold through false labeling as being made from waste cooking oil.
The company the same day signed an agreement with the Seoul-based Recycle Ledger, a small provider of a blockchain-based service for tracking waste resources.
SK C&C will share with Recycle Ledger its blockchain network ChainJet as an application program interface. Using this, Recycle Ledger will develop a blockchain platform that records the process of supplying waste cooking oil.
