South Korea's largest cloud computing service provider LG CNS Co. on Wednesday signed an agreement with Mirae N, an educational content provider, on a digital textbook project using artificial intelligence (AI).
Managed by the Ministry of Education, the venture seeks to create a customized education system by digitizing textbooks in paper book form and identifying student levels with AI.
Mirae N will develop curriculum content for mathematics, English and information (coding), while LG CNS will build a cloud platform in which students and teachers can use the content on PC or mobile. An “AI teacher” system will provide feedback on academic achievement and personalized lessons through basic functions such as video lectures and task management.
“We will mobilize all of our digital transformation capabilities so that the digital textbook platform becomes a personalized learning platform,” said Park Sang-kyun, LG CNS executive director who heads the data analytics and AI division.
