South Korea's Daewoong Pharmaceutical Co. announced on Thursday that it signed a contract with Indonesia's Bogor Agricultural University (Institut Pertanian Bogor, IPB) for joint research on primates.
Daewoong Pharmaceutical will collaborate with IPB to establish a specialized primate research center, commercialize pharmaceuticals and medical devices through primate research, and foster veterinary talent.
The company explained that the specialized primate research center will help secure competitiveness in the preclinical stage by evaluating the toxicity and efficacy of new drug candidates.
The specific cooperation will be carried out through the Center for Primate Studies (Pusat Studi Satwa Primata, PSSP), a research institution under IPB.
