GRC's ElectroSafe Fluid Partner Program image South Korea's SK Enmove Co. said on Monday it will participate in the ElectroSafe Fluid Partner Program run by US-based specialist company GRC, which evaluates and verifies heat management fluids used in liquid immersion cooling systems in data centers.
Liquid immersion cooling is a more efficient heat management technology that cools data servers by directly immersing them in a cooling liquid, compared to air cooling.
SK Enmove, a subsidiary of SK Innovation Co. has developed a heat management fluid that improves cooling efficiency and fire safety.
Through the partnership, the Korean company plans to provide its proprietary high-quality lubricating oil-based heat management fluid to GRC's global data center customers and enhance collaboration for heat management technology development. Last year, SK Enmove invested $25 million in GRC.
The company plans to develop fluid using high-quality lubricating oil and data center liquid immersion cooling systems, and cultivate its heat management business as a future growth engine.
"There is increasing interest in energy efficiency in the data center market, and demand for heat management solutions is rapidly growing," said Kim Won-ki, head of SK Enmove's Green Growth Division. "Through this partnership, we will gradually expand our business area from lubricating oil to heat management solutions."
