South Korea's LX Hausys Co. announced on Thursday that its interior film product Benif obtained the Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) certification from the Ministry of Environment.
The Ministry of Environment grants the EPD certification to eco-friendly products that use recyclable raw materials and reduce the generation of harmful substances during the manufacturing process.
The certified Benif products include three types of wood patterns and meet resource circulation standards by applying recyclable release paper.
Previously, the release paper used on the adhesive surface of interior films was polyethylene-coated and discarded after one use. In contrast, Benif replaced the release paper material with clay coating to make it recyclable.
Benif has also received stringent domestic and international certifications, including the highest rating in the European textile product quality certification (Class 1) and the top grade in the eco-friendly building materials group standard certification (HB mark).
