South Korea’s OTT platform Wavve has acquired Los Angeles-based content platform KOCOWA, short for Korean Content Wave.

KOCOWA is a US online video streaming platform established as a joint venture between the three largest Korean broadcasters and SK Telecom Co. The broadcasting stations are KBS, MBC and SBS.

The website offers Korean dramas, reality shows, and K-pop content to a global audience in multiple languages. It is available in 30 target areas within the United States, Canada, Mexico and Brazil.

In addition to its own platform KOCOWA+, the company’s content is available on Amazon Prime, Google TV, Rakuten, Roku, Comcast Xfinity and more.

Wavve announced Thursday that its board of directors confirmed the acquisition of KOCOWA.

K-drama The Law Cafe and K-pop band NCT’s reality show Welcome to NCT Universe are some of the popular content found via KOCOWA.
