Shopee Korea, an e-commerce platform for Southeast Asian and Taiwanese customers, said on Wednesday that it would expand the Shopee Logistics Service (SLS) to Thailand.

SLS is a one-stop logistics service for Shopee vendors. Once vendors send ordered items to a domestic distribution center in Gimpo, Gyeonggi Province, Shopee does everything from customs clearance to overseas delivery, which makes it easy for the vendors to manage inventories as all they need to do is send the ordered items to the distribution center.

Previously, the range of items that domestic vendors could send to Thailand through SLS was limited, but through the new service, many items such as cosmetics, food products, and health functional foods can be sold there.

Thailand is the second largest e-commerce market in Southeast Asia after Indonesia. It is one of the markets with great growth potential for sellers who want to expand their overseas sales outlets by entering the online market.

In celebration of the expansion of SLS in Thailand, Shopee Korea will not charge sales commissions for 90 days from those newly signed up to Shopee Thailand. In addition, regular promotional events will be held for sellers to participate, such as providing a "Global Deal" account where the brand is exposed on the main page of the Shopee Thailand website.

Kwon Yoon-ah, Branch Office Manager of Shopee Korea, said, "In Thailand, where e-commerce growth and the Korean Wave are all the rage, the SLS expansion will be a great opportunity for Korean vendors. We will work hard to expand the product category and service range so that our vendors can have continuous business growth chances.”
