The hydrogen van E-Daily was unveiled on Sept. 19 for the first time in the world South Korea's Hyundai Motor Co. and Italian truck maker Iveco Group on Monday showcased a large commercial van powered by hydrogen, which they had jointly developed.
The E-Daily hydrogen fuel cell electric van is based on Iveco’s flagship “Daily” model. It is on display at the Hannover IAA Commercial Vehicles exhibition taking place in Germany this week.
The 7-ton van can be fully charged in 15 minutes. It can drive up to 350 kilometers on a single charge, carrying a maximum of 3-ton payload.
The vehicle is equipped with a 140-kilowatt electric motor developed by FPT Industrial under the Iveco Group, alongside a 90 kW hydrogen fuel cell system from Hyundai Motor.
It is the second model co-developed by both companies since Hyundai’s hydrogen fuel cell system was installed in a truck produced by Iveco Group.
The areas of their possible mutual interest include electric powertrains, vehicle automation and connectivity technology for commercial vehicles, Hyundai said in March.
