Samsung Display announced on Monday that its 7-inch foldable panel, used in the latest generation of foldable phones, completed the demanding MIL-STD 810G tests.
MIL-STD-810G is the US Department of Defense Test Method Standard, Environmental Engineering Considerations, and Laboratory Tests.
With a 6mm-thick layer of ice formed on its exterior after water spraying at -10°C, the Samsung Display foldable panel continued to function normally even after 4 hours.
It also withstood temperatures ranging from -32°C to +63°C for 2 hours each, repeated three times over 12 hours without performance degradation.
The panel passed rigorous shock tests, undergoing 26 drop tests from 1.22 meters simulating real-world phone usage scenarios.
It also withstood forces up to 10.5 times gravity through high-speed rotations, confirming its ability to handle intense external activities without issue.
