South Korea's food processing company Dongsuh Foods Corporation announced on Monday the launch of new green technology-certified packaging.
This green certification system is a government-led initiative that aims to recognize and promote promising eco-friendly technologies, in line with the Framework Act on Carbon Neutrality and Green Growth.
Green technology refers to innovative solutions that help conserve energy and resources, thereby reducing greenhouse gas emissions and environmental pollutants.
To this end, Dongsuh Foods has adopted eco-friendly packaging materials that employ green technology, starting with its "coffee mix" products such as Maxim Mocha Gold, Maxim White Gold, as well as Maxim Instant Coffee Refill.
The company has also introduced the same packaging materials for Kanu Latte coffee and flat-bottom stand-up bags for Post cereal products.
By using these eco-friendly packaging materials, Dongsuh Foods expects to reduce its annual usage of packaging ink by half compared to the present. Going forward, the company plans to extend the use of green-certified packaging materials to include whole bean coffees and Oreo products.
Overall, this move by Dongsuh Foods highlights the company's commitment to sustainability and reducing its environmental impact through the use of innovative green technologies.
