South Korean leading luxury hotel and retail operator Hotel Shilla announced on Tuesday that its four restaurants were selected on the La Liste 2024, Atout France’s gastronomic guide.
The hotel’s Korean cuisine La Yeon got 97 scores and was chosen as one of the Top 200 global restaurants.
Since joining the list in 2017, La Yeon has been ranked in the Top 500 for six consecutive years and in the Top 200 for five consecutive years. Hotel Shilla's French cuisine Continental and Japanese restaurant Ariake have been recognized in the Top 1000 for five consecutive years, and Chinese restaurant Palsun has been selected twice.
La Liste, curated by Atout France, the French Tourism Development Agency, annually announces a selection of the top 1000 restaurants worldwide, a process that integrates data from various sources including online review platforms like TripAdvisor and Yelp, critiques from renowned publications such as The New York Times and the Michelin Guide, and international restaurateur surveys.
At the La Liste 2024 cocktail reception in Paris, La Yeon and Continental's chefs represented South Korea, showcasing a menu inspired by traditional Korean cuisine, underscoring the nation's culinary artistry to an international audience.
Hotel Shilla has participated in presenting Korean gastronomy at four prior official events. This year's reception saw a selective invitation from Atout France to only five restaurant teams from across the globe to present their signature dishes, among which Hotel Shilla was a notable contributor.
