The Korea Trade Network (KTNET) held a grand opening event for its uTH 2.0, a digital trade logistics platform, in partnership with the Korea International Trade Association on Wednesday. KTNET, a 100% subsidiary of KITA, is Korea's only electronic trade-based operator.
The digital trade logistics platform uTH 2.0 utilizes Fourth Industrial Revolution technologies such as blockchain and artificial intelligence (AI) to enhance convenience and speed for companies in handling trade and logistics tasks.
Digital logistics, e-commerce trade, smart trade ledger, and digital electronic document distribution services have been newly added as new features to the platform.
The digital logistics service can handle everything from port logistics centered on shipping companies and terminals to shipping between shippers and logistics firms, cargo tracking, and inland cargo transportation.
Documents such as bills of lading, which were previously processed by fax or email, can be shared as digital data through uTH 2.0 in real time.
"With the grand opening of the digital trade and logistics platform, the trade environment in the trade and logistics industry will be greatly improved," said Cha Young-hwan, president of KTNET.
