The operating profit is estimated to have surpassed 100 billion won, the auto parts maker said.
The car parts manufacturer was founded in 2019 with the merging of the group's two auto components units Hyundai Dymos and Hyundai Powertech. At the time of the merger, the new entity’s revenue was around 7.7 trillion won.
The revenue has jumped over the past years thanks to an increase in all-electric IONIQ 5 sales, a Hyundai Transys official said. The company supplies electric powertrains for Hyundai Motor Co.'s and Kia Corp.'s eco-friendly cars, including electric vehicles (EVs), hybrid EVs and plug-in hybrid electric cars.
The car part maker's e-powertrain is a three-in-one system combining a motor, inverter and reduction gear to save costs, reduce size and weight as well as increase energy efficiency with an improved engine cooling system.
The auto parts maker's in-house disconnector actuator system (DAS) is installed in the IONIQ 5. DAS separates or connects the motor and the drive shaft depending on driving conditions and allows the driver to switch from two-wheel-drive (2WD) to all-wheel-drive (AWD) in 0.4 seconds.
Hyundai Transys is running 33 branches in 11 countries to supply powertrains and seats to its global clients. It is aiming to expand its presence in the eco-friendly vehicle markets of the US and Europe this year.
In a bid to transform its core business from car parts to future mobility, the company is also developing solutions for urban air mobility and robotics.
