The Hyundai Mipo's 38,000-cubic-meter-class LPG carrier Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering (KSOE), an intermediate shipbuilding holding company for HD Hyundai Co., announced on Friday in a regulatory filing that it signed a contract with a European shipping company to construct two mid-sized gas carriers, totaling an order volume of 193.7 billion won ($146.2 million).
The vessels will be built at Hyundai Mipo Dockyard in Ulsan and delivered sequentially by Oct. 2025.
KSOE has received orders worth $6.3 billion for 47 vessels this year, representing 40% of its annual target of $15.7 billion.
Its order book includes 11 petrochemical carriers, one tanker, 19 container ships, eight liquefied natural gas carriers, six liquefied petroleum gas carriers and two mid-sized gas carriers.
