Mass-production mold maker RheeTech guarantees high precision

RheeTech Co. is small in business size but a mighty mass-production mold engineering company in South Korea that guarantees the quality of its molds and precision parts for electronics and semiconductor equipment under the leadership of a former engineer of Korean electronics giant LG Electronics Inc.

“Anything measurable can be turned into a real product,” said Lee Jung-hoon, the founder and chief executive of RheeTech.

“Only a handful of companies can make thread-like thin pins or precision parts with 0.05-millimeter holes with injection molding,” added Lee, showing confidence in RheeTech’s capabilities in producing engineering plastic molds and injection molding for precision parts.

MASS TOOLING FIRM WITH A FOCUS ON PTFE, PEEK INJECTION MOLDING

Founded in 2005, RheeTech manufactures mass-production molds that can produce plastic products in high volume. It also produces precision parts for electronics and semiconductor equipment, including mobile phone charging cable connectors, stylus pen parts and semiconductor equipment parts with injection molding.

Its core strength lies in producing special molds for polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) and polyetheretherketone (PEEK) parts and injection molding for PTFE- and PEEK-based parts.

“Mold design is important because it determines the cost and time of mass production,” said Lee, adding that a well-designed mold can help the product owner significantly save production time and costs.

RheeTech is an expert in sophisticated mold design and production thanks to its extensive experience in dealing with advanced materials such as PEEK, a high-performance engineering plastic often used in semiconductor, aerospace and oil and gas processing facilities for its outstanding resistance to harsh chemical, steam, water and seawater, as well as excellent mechanical strength.

It designs and produces mass-production molds for camera modules and hinge modules for mobile devices, as well as various actuators and automotive valve parts. 

ALL-ELECTRIC INJECTION MOLDING, 3D CMM

RheeTech uses all-electric injection molding machines with Servo motors for injection molding to improve precision in the molding process. Hydraulic and hybrid molds are generally used for injection molding. 

It also mixes nanocarbon with other plastic raw materials to produce precision parts for semiconductor equipment. The company also produces plastic-injected LED lenses with outstanding brightness.

The Hwaseong, Gyeonggi Province-based company is equipped with a contactless 3D coordinate measuring machine (CMM) and a leveling machine.               

CUSTOMERS

RheeTech is a small manufacturer but has customers in the electronics, semiconductor and auto industries from not only Korea but also Japan and the UK that value the company’s ability to produce quality precision parts and molds in high volume.

It manufactures molds and precision parts at its factory in Gyeonggi Province in South Korea.

It runs 12 injection molding machines, mainly all-electric and hybrid. It also has a large group of tooling including milling, grinding and pressing machines, as well as testing machines to produce molds.
