KG Mobility's Torres EVX South Korea's KG Mobility Corp., formerly Ssangyong Motor, announced on Monday that it has confirmed the release of the electrified version of its sports utility vehicle (SUV) Torres, called "Torres EVX," in September this year.
Torres EVX is KG Mobility's first electric model introduced since it changed its name in March this year. The mid-sized SUV, Mobility, which was released in July last year as Ssangyong Motor's last model, surpassed cumulative sales of 50,000 units in just over a year, achieving a record for the shortest period since Ssangyong Motor's founding.
KG Mobility explained that Torres EVX represents the identity of an electric leisure SUV through its sleek lines and horizontal light emitting diode (LED) daytime running lamp (DRL) called "kinetic lighting block."
With a minimum ground clearance of 17.4 cm, the high body is suitable for offroad driving compared to competing models and provides a wide front field of view, giving a sense of openness, according to KG Mobility.
The vehicle is equipped with lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries, known for their competitive pricing and high stability. According to KG Mobility's own measurements, the range on a full charge is 420 km.
Torres EVX will be available in two trims: E5 and E7.
The exact release date and selling price will be determined considering the market situation in the coming months.
