LG Electronics Inc. on Thursday said it will unveil next month the residential living solution LG Smart Cottage at Europe’s largest home appliance exhibition IFA in Berlin, Germany.
The small modular home has certain parts pre-manufactured and assembled on site, integrating LG Electronics’ energy, cooling and air conditioning technologies with high-end home appliances.
Following the release of the prototype in March, the Smart Cottage, which has attracted attention on the Continent for self-producing part of the energy used at the home, will reflect European customer preferences at IFA.
A four-kilowatt solar panel on the roof produces daily electricity sufficient for two adults. Therma V Monobloc, the built-in heat pump system for cooling and heating, also slashes energy consumption and leftover electricity is stored in the home’s energy storage system.
The modular house also features a variety of the company’s premium home appliances including the washing machine WashTower Compact from the designer collection Objet, dishwasher, electric induction range and water cooler.
