Tous les Jours, the bakery brand under South Korea's CJ Foodville, unveiled plans on Tuesday to invest over 50 billion won ($37 million) in its first US production facility.
The manufacturing plant will occupy about 90,000 square meters in Hall County, Gainesville, Georgia. CJ Foodville, the food service subsidiary of CJ Group, recently confirmed the investment, identifying Georgia as the chosen location for the facility.
"The aim is to break ground within this year and complete the construction by 2025," a company source said.
This marks CJ Foodville's debut in US-based production, with the facility expected to have an annual output capacity of over 100 million items, including Tous les Jours' frozen dough and cakes.
CJ Foodville initially broke into the US market in 2004 with Tous les Jours and began its franchise operations in 2009. The company presently runs 100 outlets across 26 US states.
