South Korea’s Kakao Mobility announced on Thursday that it has started integrating its taxi service app Kakao T with overseas apps. Foreign tourists can use Kakao T in South Korea without that app.
Based on the global mobility aggregator platform Splyt, this service connects overseas users and the network of Kakao T app.
Kakao Mobility provides real-time automatic translation for communication between drivers and passengers. Taxi fare is automatically paid through payment methods registered in overseas apps.
Initially, this service is available for Chinese tourists in South Korea who use WeChat, Alipay and Ctrip. Chinese visitors can call Kakao T Venti and Black vehicles through these apps.
Kakao Mobility plans to gradually expand this service to include apps in Southeast Asia, Japan, Europe, and other regions.
