The headquarters of Woori Bank in Seoul South Korea's Woori Bank plans to open two new branches in India in the first half of next year.
The bank announced on Tuesday it has obtained preliminary approval for the opening of branches in Pune and Ahmedabad from the Reserve Bank of India.
Woori Bank said that Pune is a key city in the western automotive industry belt of India, while Ahmedabad is an export hub in the harbor area with the world's largest petrochemical complex.
With these additions, Woori Bank will have a total of five branches in India. The bank previously opened offices in Chennai in 2012, Gurgaon (Delhi), and Mumbai in 2017.
