Asiana Airlines Inc. announced on Wednesday that it will conduct a live commerce broadcast in collaboration with China's largest online travel agency Ctrip. The broadcast, taking place at Asiana Air's headquarters, will run for 3 hours and 30 minutes starting at 3:00 pm on the same day.
The broadcast will feature the sale of tickets for 15 routes departing from cities in China such as Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou. It will also showcase experiences, including service training for cabin crew, boarding a flight simulator and demonstrations of safety training facilities conducted at the headquarters.
Reflecting the changing travel trends among China's young consumers from "Youker" (group tourists) to "Sanker" (individual tourists), Asiana Air explained that it decided to initiate live commerce broadcasts.
"This live commerce event holds significance as the first joint broadcast conducted by Ctrip and an overseas airline," said Yoo Byung-kuk, the Regional Manager of Asiana Airlines in China. "We will further dedicate ourselves to attracting Chinese tourists, leveraging the strength of our airline's network in China."
