South Korean battery materials manufacturer EcoPro Co. announced on Monday that it achieved a significant milestone last year by exporting over 100,000 tons of high-nickel cathode materials, marking the first time the company has surpassed this annual export volume.
This represents a 24.4% surge from the previous year's 86,000 tons, fueling enough batteries for up to 1.2 million electric vehicles.
This quantity is sufficient to produce batteries for up to 1.2 million electric vehicles.
Since its initial export to Sony in 2013, EcoPro's exports of high-nickel cathode materials have steadily increased, climbing to 16,000 tons in 2018, 28,000 tons in 2020, and 47,000 tons in 2021.
The company anticipates further growth in exports, projecting around 120,000 tons for the current year.
