Samsung Electronics Co. announced on Sunday that it will deploy smart home services in the Miami residential complex, Florida with the US-based real estate company Flow.
Samsung plans to outfit a 422-unit complex in Miami with its home appliances, including refrigerators, washers, dryers, and projectors, all integrated with the SmartThings platform.
Once operational, this SmartThings-enabled smart apartment complex will utilize sensors and AI solutions to adjust the temperature, humidity, and lighting based on the residents' lifestyle patterns.
For example, when a resident leaves the building, the system will switch to energy-saving mode, turning off lights and appliances to conserve energy.
Upon a resident’s return, the system will adjust the temperature and humidity and reactivate the electronic devices.
This solution also extends to providing home management services for businesses, optimizing lighting and air conditioning systems to reduce overall energy consumption.
It includes automatic connectivity to an after-sales service center if any appliance issues arise.
