South Korea's low-cost carrier T'way Air Co. announced on Monday that it signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with CJ CheilJedang Corp. on May 13 to jointly develop in-flight meals.
CJ CheilJedang will create Bibigo ready-made frozen meals, while T'way Air will offer these menus on various routes.
It's the first time a South Korean airline has partnered with a major food company to cooperate in-flight meals.
The two companies plan to introduce a sausage & egg brunch and beef mushroom porridge.
These meals will first be available on the Incheon to Zagreb (Croatia) route, which begins on May 16, and later be offered as a second meal option to business savers and economy passengers on new European routes launching in the second half of this year.
T'way Air receives in-flight meals from a catering service partner (CSP), a lunchbox manufacturer based in Gimpo.
CJ CheilJedang marks a new development in their in-flight meal offerings.
