Hyundai Motor Co. said on Monday that it completed the H Jeju Moving Station, a mobile hydrogen charging facility, at the Carbon-Free Island (CFI) Energy Future Center in Gujwa-eup, Jeju Island.
This is Hyundai's second mobile hydrogen station in South Korea, following H Gwangjin Moving Station in Seoul's Gwangjin District in 2022.
It's the country's first mobile hydrogen station to use green hydrogen, produced through renewable sources like wind power.
The H Jeju Moving Station will be powered by green hydrogen sourced from the Haengwon Wind Farm in Jeju.
The mobile charging station operates with Hyundai Motor's 25-ton truck Xcient and can fuel up to 20 Nexo hydrogen-electric vehicles at a 50% charge level.
At the opening ceremony on November 1, Hyundai Motor showcased hydrogen buses and hydrogen-powered garbage trucks scheduled to begin operating on the island.
