HD Hyundai's shipbuilding intermediate holding company, HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering (HD KSOE), said on Friday that it has secured a shipbuilding contract for two petroleum chemical products carriers with an African-based shipping company.
The contract is valued at 117.3 billion won ($88.38 million).
The vessels will be constructed at Hyundai Mipo Dockyard in Ulsan and are expected to be delivered by July 2026.
To date, HD KSOE has received orders for a total of 79 ships, with an accumulated order value of $9.97 billion. This achievement represents approximately 63.3% of the annual order target of $15.74 billion.
The ship orders encompass various types, including 25 petroleum chemical product carriers, three tankers, 19 container ships, 16 liquefied natural gas (LNG) carriers, 14 liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) carriers and two medium-sized gas carriers.
