South Korea's HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering Co. (HD KSOE) announced on Friday that it has recently signed a contract with a European shipping company to build two petrochemical product carriers (PC ships).
The total order amount is 137.2 billion won ($100.4 million).
The two PC ships ordered will be built at HD Hyundai Vietnam Shipbuilding and are scheduled to be delivered by December 2027.
Including this order, HD KSOE has secured a total of 110 vessels (including one offshore facility) worth $12 billion so far, achieving 88.9% of its annual order target of $13.5 billion.
The orders by ship type include 8 liquefied natural gas (LNG) carriers, 46 PC ships, 36 liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) and ammonia carriers, 1 ethane carrier, 2 liquefied carbon dioxide carriers, 6 very large crude carriers (VLCCs), 3 tankers, 2 pure car and truck carriers (PCTCs), 1 floating storage regasification unit (FSRU), 1 offshore facility and 4 special ships.
