A stack of steel plates at Hyundai Steel's plant in Dangjin, South Chungcheong Province South Korean steelmaker Hyundai Steel Co. said on Wednesday it has received the Nuclear Material Supplier Quality System Certificate (QSC) from the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) for its nuclear-grade steel products.
The certification confirmed that its rebar, structural steel and thick plates meet the quality standards of the global nuclear industry and is expected to enhance the international recognition of its products, Hyundai added.
ASME, a globally recognized standards organization, grants the QSC certification to nuclear-related materials and components that meet its quality and safety standards.
Hyundai Steel has previously supplied products to major domestic nuclear plants and built a global track record through participation in the Barakah nuclear power project in the United Arab Emirates in 2011.
