South Korea's CJ OliveNetworks said on Thursday it secured a contract to build a smart factory of the nation's leading soju maker HiteJinro Co. in Vietnam.
HiteJinro, marking its centenary, is setting up its first overseas production plant to bolster its global market presence and meet rising export demands.
The Vietnam facility, slated for completion in 2026, aims to produce over 1 million cases annually and will serve as a key hub for Southeast Asian operations.
CJ OliveNetworks will design bespoke automation systems for alcohol production, implement an integrated management system, and oversee maintenance.
The project will incorporate advanced technologies to optimize core processes, establish flexible production systems, and enhance quality consistency.
