South Korea's HD Hyundai XiteSolution announced on Thursday that its futuristic unmanned construction equipment Future-X won the Best of the Best Award from the Red Dot Design Award: Design Concept.
The Red Dot Design Award is recognized as one of the top three design awards in the world, along with the German iF Design Award and the American IDEA.
Future-X is a next-generation unmanned construction machine introduced by HD Hyundai Co. at the world's largest IT and electronics exhibition (CES) in January.
It is designed without a cabin in line with the unmanned equipment concept.
The lower body with wheels can be adapted to function as an excavator, wheel loader, or articulated dump truck depending on the situation.
Future-X is equipped with radar, cameras, and an around view monitor (AVM) system that allows for a 360-degree view, significantly enhancing the safety of unmanned operations.
Future-X has also been nominated for the Red Dot: Luminary Award, the highest recognition at the Red Dot Award: Design Concept, to be announced in October.
