KOREN data lake portal site KT Corp. said on Monday that it will start operation on Jan. 5 after completing the construction of KOREN data lake portal site, which provides various operation data of the hyper-connected intelligent research and development network.
KOREN is a non-profit R&D network that connects ten metropolitan areas nationwide at a speed of 10 to 660 Gbps for the purpose of studying and verifying network-leading technologies and related equipment. National Information Society Agency will be responsible for establishing and managing the network.
As part of the KOREN advancement project, KT created a data lake portal site that provides network operation data.
The site provides data such as abnormal and harmful traffic generated during its operation, which is used for researching and developing network failure, abnormal traffic prediction algorithms, and artificial intelligence (AI)-based network control systems.
KT said that it will classify the data according to optical signal strength, international network data, and traffic for each institution, and provide statistics in visualized forms such as graphs and tables to enhance the convenience of use.
